Covered All Over...Or Not

As usual, whenever I go out to watch a gig or party with friends, the hardest part is figuring out what to wear. I'm not really the type to go with what's in or hot. I go with how I feel. If I feel good about wearing a particular attire, no matter what it may look like to others, then I just wear it.

I was supposed to don a sundress at the Brownman Revival gig... the type that makes me feel like I'm just at the beach. I was thinking about it for days but as soon as I wore it, it didn't feel right. Blame it to my baby fats. So I figured, I should wear something that will cover the bad parts. Until I get to lose some more weight, then that's the time I'm gonna wear my sundress. That evening, here's what I came up with. And thank God it was a bit rainy that night, my getup became quite appropriate for the weather. ^_^

I wore an A-line dress with low-cut neckline from 248; my ever reliable 10 year old Mango boots; my long-sleeved and tight fitting cardigan I got from;ukay-ukay; my feather headband from YRYS; and my gold necklace and pearl earrings I bought from a Muslim 5 years ago.

I think it looked alright. Peter liked it too. What do you think? ^_^

My Kimono Dresses and Filigrenasia Purchases

Here are two of the Kimono dresses. I've been wearing them the last two weekends whenever Peter and I would go malling. They feel comfortable and cool to the skin. The fabric is soft, silky and smooth. I think they'd also be perfect for the beach as a cover up on top of a bikini. I wonder when I can go visit the beach again? ^_^

Most of my silver jewelry are from Filigrenasia so when they had a sale last weekend, I checked out if anythings will strike me. As it turned out, this ring did, and I've been wearing it since. I never take it off. I find it so beautiful and it feels like second skin on my finger.

According to the sales lady, the cross is made of resin or some sort of enamel. Well, whatever it is, I find it pretty and I don't think I'll be taking this off again. ^_^

Since I was already there at Filigrenasia, I got myself a silver necklace since I got tons of pendants at home and only a few silver necklaces. I think adding one is not such a bad idea. ^_^

Beach Wear for Dungaree Beach in Subic

Last March 6, we went to Subic and discovered this serene little beach in Subic... See my travel blog for details...

Since I am saving my new summer beach wear for our Caramoan and Butanding trip this coming April, I wore an old Bohemian type turquoise blouse, a white smock which I turned to skirt, and my white pair of Crocs footwear instead.

Purple Getup

Last Feb. 27, my hubby and I stayed overnight at a Php30 Million Peso house in Antipolo. I wanted to travel light, as always, and so I just prepared one motif for that weekend - PURPLE. Here are what I wore:

Jen Gaga Over Leggings

I must have bought around 10 pairs of leggings at Timesquare in Kuala Lumpur when I went there last January 6-8, 2010 so it's all I wear every time I have the chance. They're so comfortable and light and reminds me of my childhood days in the 80's and teendom in the 90's. For me, they have so many uses they could never run out of style. Haylaveeeet!

Fashion in Travelling Light

I went to Cebu and Cagayan de Oro last week, from October 6 - 12, 2009, for both business and pleasure. I traveled alone which means that Peter wasn't be there to carry my luggage for me. Because of this, I decided to travel light. If before I seemed to bring my whole closet with me, this time around I just brought outfits with a single motif... meaning, I only brought 1 pair of shoes (CROCS), 1 cap (the one I bought from Tagaytay Ukay-Ukay), 1 set of jewelry (my set of rice pearls from Boracay), 1 wristwatch (my Anne Klein) and 1 shoulder bag (Coach). ^_^

My FashionKo Blog on QTV

Something pretty exciting is happening on July 1, 2009 at 10:30 PM. QTV is featuring this blog, FashionKo.i.ph!!! Other fashion bloggers will be featured as well and I can't wait to see it! For those who don't know, I’ve been on TV as a talent before on numerous occasions but this one’s different. There was no script and there was no character to play. It’s all ME!!! I’m pretty nervous and excited at the same time. I’m not gonna tell you to watch me but if you wanna see me babbling the rest of the interview away, well, I can’t stop you either. You may judge me but please try not to be harsh. I’m a complete virgin at this. Teehee.

Yellow Ballerina Shoes

I finally got to wear my yellow ballerina shoes! It was a toss between pairing my shoes with a yellow blouse or bag or letting my shoes become the main accessory or highlight of my getup. I chose the latter coz it made my whole outfit shine! I think that's the trick in mixing and matching apparel. If it makes you "glow" and you feel comfy and beautiful in it, then go! The world is your runway. Here it is...

Footwear Fashion Trends - Fringed Shoes

I was watching ETC's Daily Ten yesterday evening when I found out that FRINGED shoes are back once again. They are great with almost anything --- skirts, jeans, leggings... you name it, they're perfect! I have yet to find my perfect gladiator fringed sandals but I already own two pairs of fringed suede boots. It's just a matter of time and budget before I get hold of my next pair. ^_^

Fashion Week of My Own

I've been strutting the runway I call Edsa and malls the last couple of days doing my field work and research for a project we got going at the office. I made sure that I was wearing comfortable clothes without sacrificing my own sense of style. So here are what I came up with...

Fashion Week Outfit

Everyday, I come to work bringing a lot of stuff as it is. Today is no different except for the fact that I had to attend our Creative Director/President's (MARLON N. RIVERA) fashion show collection for 2009 Fashion Week. It occurred to me that I can bring extra clothes and change attire come 6pm. But since I didn't want to burden myself with carrying more stuff, I decided to just don to work whatever it was that I plan to wear later that evening. This was what I came up with.

Fashionable Summer Outfits 2009 Part II

I know, I know. The weather these days can be very unpredictable but still, I believe that our days in the sun are not yet over. No, no, no, no, no. So before the skies totally rain on our parade, I just wanna share the second installment of my summer attire collection based on what I wore when I went to Jakarta and Bali last March 20-26, 2009. If you want to see the rest of my blog posts pertaining to this trip, you may do so here. Otherwise, here are my simple, semi-bohemian, and cool summer outfits:

Fashion Party Outfits

Itis my personal campaign this year to refrain from buying new party clothes and accessories. Money is better spent somewhere else like maybe putting up our own business, investing in stocks or life insurance or simply keeping them in our own bank account, don't you think? However, on occasions when we do need to hang loose and party, it's still nice to look our best, right? So what I did was look for those classic pieces that I haven't worn in a long while, doll them up with nice shoes, bags & jewelry hidden somewhere at the back of my closet and voila! We are ready to party!!!!

Fashion Outfits for 2008

Here's a look back at the year that was through some of the many different outfits I wore. Would you be able to tell me what the common denominator is? I still can't figure it out. All I know is that every time I head out of the house, I wear what's comfy on my skin. I'm not one to follow the conventions but I'm not the type to go simple either. But I at least make sure they somehow match and look pleasing to the eyes.

So anyway, cheers to the many other outfits 2009 will bring me. Bring them on!

Fashion Jewelry Collection

We discovered this really cool shop called Bohemian Nation Trading Company which sells quite expensive furniture, jewelry, and house decors imported from India and Thailand.

And as what would happen when I get surrounded with beautiful things... I ended buying 5 Bohemian tea lamps for the house, 8 packs of incense sticks (Opium, Coffee, Dragon's Blood, Frankincense & Myrrh and Ruda), and 5 funky rings made of glass and bones. Then Peter bought me this beautiful amethyst set. It's my second one, the first being being his spontanoeus gift for me when we visited Singapore and bought one right there at their jewlery factory back in 2005. But this particular amethyst set is just so much prettier! Thanks baby! You just really know how to melt my heart all the more.
