Charles and Keith Wedge Sandals and the Rest of My Birthday Loot

On my birthday weekend, I had a total of three attire changes. Hihihi. Aside from all the malling and walking around we did, we also spent time by the pool on Sunday morning and did other water-related activities so I had to wear something that's easy to take off, hence, this dress from one of my collections before.

The rest of our Sunday, I was dressed in a more stylish getup (puff sleeve blazer, faux fur Twinky boots, Givenchy handbag). As opposed to previous years when I'd buy a dozen pairs of shoes on my birthday, I am actually quite frugalicious this time around. Based on my experience, I never got to wear my lovely shoes (from Charles and Keith, People are People, Crocs, Manel's) as often as I had hoped so I told myself to stop hoarding once and for all and just buy what I need and really, really want.

Last month, I told you about this perfect pair of faux fur boots I got from Twinky and you'd be proud to know that I've already worn it at least 5 times! That's even more than the number of times I got to wear all those other two dozen shoes I bought before. Hehehe. A pat on my back is in order.

Anyway, I also got myself early birthday presents late last month when I bought 3 pieces of puff sleeve blazers and this gorgeous pair of Charles and Keith strappy ankle wedge sandals.

Lace Layered Dress + Puff Sleeve Blazer + Demi Boots

When Peter and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary at Alba, it was a bit cold and drizzling outside. I thought of wearing something warm but comfy, cute and ladylike all at the same time. It must be my mood that day. I was feeling so much and I just couldn't decide what kind of look I want. So I just threw everything on my bed and picked out the ones I liked.

Trying to Break Away From My Usual Fashion Mode

I'll be going to Boracay soon to experience the island life for six weeks so I've been trying as best I can to wear those new heels I bought from People are People a couple of weeks back, even if it's just going on a simple movie date with my hubby.

If you've noticed, I am the typical "terno" kind of gal. I like wearing matching bags and shoes, matching top and bottom, matching everything, color-wise that is. However, lately, I've been reading that this kind of fashion is out and wearing innovative color combination and mixing weird patterns are in. Somehow I always end up wearing something that matches in a so-called old fashion kind of way. Usually I don't really care. It's my body, my comfort, my style. I think I look good and for me, this kind of healthy appreciation for one's own sense of style is what really matters. But on these two particular weekends...
