People are People: My 6 New Pairs of Shoes

People are People is one of those stores I frequent when I want to buy shoes that really last. I have an old pair of beaded sandals from 2008 which I still use until now, plus my gladiator boots which I had since 2009 which I also still use until now. I bought these pairs of shoes from People are People and though the leather is man-made, they have proven to be very sturdy as compared to the 5 pairs of shoes I bought from Janilyn less than a year ago, which already have chips and cracks. So never again to Janilyn but always yes to People are People. ^_^

Check out my six new pairs of shoes:

  1. Jen, why do need so much shoes? Do you use all of them regularly? I don't want to sound preachy because I also have a lot of shoes and sometimes, I cant help buying, but last New Year, when I looked at my closest and saw the shoes that I don't wear, I felt guilty and ashamed. So I promised not to be buy (shoes, clothes and bags) anymore unless I really need to.
Anyway, it's just a personal promise. Your shoes are gorgeous especially the glittered one.

  2. Yeah, I do need a ton of shoes for all my gigs, rakets and lakads and for my personal satisfaction. Hehehe. Unlike you, I'm just not ashamed of having so many shoes. I'm not a gadget freak, I don't buy expensive clothes, I always think 100x before I purchase anything, I basically have no other luxury except maybe shoes and wooden antique furniture.^_^ BUT, I only buy shoes once or twice a year (based on my past experiences). I'm kinda extreme that way, being an Aquarian and all. I either buy A LOT or not buy at all. ^_^

For these new pairs I bought, I hope to use them regularly.

I've had shoes since year 2000 ( like my Mango boots)which I use until now. I have real leather boots (like my Rusty Lopez) and they've been with me for almost a decade now and I still use them especially when we go abroad, or go up to Baguio or when the weather gets cold here in Manila.

I usually buy shoes that I think will last. Unfortunately, the 5 pairs of Janilyn shoes I bought last March 2010 already have cracks so I plan to sell them on my upcoming garage sale. I usually don't throw my shoes away as long as they're still sturdy. Sometimes, I even stitch them up and embellish them with beads. Those that can still be used, I give them to people I know who may need them so they don't go to waste. ^_^

I hope my very long answer satisfies your curiosity.:-)

As for your promise to not buy shoes, clothes and bags, that's okay... admirable even. As long as it makes you happy, it's aligned with your life's goals and you don't hurt anybody along the way. :-)

  7. Hi. May I ask to which PRP branch were you able to find the gold shoes? I actually went to MOA and Robinsons Place Manila but they said such has never been available. I found almost the same as that but it doesn't come with that colour, only black and multi-colour. I hope you don't mind, I'm just so in love with its style, and been hoping to find one. :)
