Casual Ensemble by Net Bautista

I had my hair, makeup, and getup done by freelance makeup artist Net Bautista last weekend. She's a very good friend of mine and it was only at the start of this year that I discovered how passionate she really is about makeup. She's been doing freelance makeup gigs for half a year now and I was just so lucky to finally book an appointment with her. She did several looks on my face which you can read about here:

My Different Faces by Makeup Artist Net Bautista

On this post, I'd like to share with you the way Net Bautista styled not just my hair (I got to wear big curly ones!), but my attires for that day as well --- two simple and casual ensembles. I am in the process of choosing which ones I really like for framing and stuff. Anyway, below are my favorite shots taken by my hubby, Peter Juan.

Trying to Break Away From My Usual Fashion Mode

I'll be going to Boracay soon to experience the island life for six weeks so I've been trying as best I can to wear those new heels I bought from People are People a couple of weeks back, even if it's just going on a simple movie date with my hubby.

If you've noticed, I am the typical "terno" kind of gal. I like wearing matching bags and shoes, matching top and bottom, matching everything, color-wise that is. However, lately, I've been reading that this kind of fashion is out and wearing innovative color combination and mixing weird patterns are in. Somehow I always end up wearing something that matches in a so-called old fashion kind of way. Usually I don't really care. It's my body, my comfort, my style. I think I look good and for me, this kind of healthy appreciation for one's own sense of style is what really matters. But on these two particular weekends...

People are People: My 6 New Pairs of Shoes

People are People is one of those stores I frequent when I want to buy shoes that really last. I have an old pair of beaded sandals from 2008 which I still use until now, plus my gladiator boots which I had since 2009 which I also still use until now. I bought these pairs of shoes from People are People and though the leather is man-made, they have proven to be very sturdy as compared to the 5 pairs of shoes I bought from Janilyn less than a year ago, which already have chips and cracks. So never again to Janilyn but always yes to People are People. ^_^

Check out my six new pairs of shoes:

Charles and Keith 4-inch Strappy Heels

Remember when I told you that I bought 8 pairs of shoes for my birthday? Last year, I did the same thing but it I think it only cost me 20% or less of what I spent for my shoes this month. I'm normally not like this. But since I only buy shoes once a year now, I guess it's okay to splurge. Plus, I've been working so hard so I believe I deserved a treat, don't you think? ^_^

Anyway, let me share with you one of these fabulous pairs of shoes: my Charles and Keith 4-inch Open-Toed Pumps. They are just sooo comfortable!!!

My Resorts World Manila Getup

I've had a bad case of "I've got nothing to wear!" that evening Peter and I went to Resorts World Manila for the launch of Grand Fiesta Manila 2010 and Grand Fiesta Run 2010. I have numerous attires in mind but nothing fitted me well! Huhuhu. This calls for more exercise and less intake of carbs, which was why I didn't eat a lot even if there were a lot of delicious Chinese food being served at Passion Restaurant that evening. And like I always tell myself, when I feel fat, just wear black. I have this loose black butterfly blouse, which has been a part of my clothes collection before for the Sexy Nomad Apparel, which I've been saving for occasions like this. It's still a bit loose for my frame but at least, it made me feel not too fat. ^_^ I wore it with my old jeans, silver sandals & pearls and voila --- I may have looked simple but I think I also looked chic & fab. ^_^
