My Fila Skeletoes

Last night til dawn at Bonifacio High Street w/ Sissy Net

Last weekend, after I had my braces installed for the third time (coz I was too lazy to wear my retainers after... first installation was in HS, 2nd was 5 years ago, then now), my baboo Peter and I did some window shopping around Mall of Asia. As usual, my hubby got interested with the display of shoes and there's this one particular type that he keeps coming back to --- Skeletoes by Fila. Ever since he tried Vibram Five Fingers(the original brand that came out with the 5-toe type of shoes) and didn't like it, he has always been looking for something similar but more comfortable. This is the nth time he has been trying on Fila's Skeletoes and this time, it looks like he's finally going to buy. My baboo is like that. He is not an easy shopper. He has to know for sure that he likes something before he finally goes and buys it. Same when he's hooking up with women in the past I guess which is why we have been married for more than a decade now and I'm  happy to say that it's been mostly happy.

My 2012 Summer Apparel - A Look Back

at the Sandbar in Iloilo

When I first set up this blog, it was just for documenting the kinds of looks I could come up with by mixing and matching the clothes I already have. I'm not just an emotional person, I'm pretty visual too and I tend to remember my experiences not just on how I felt about them (like that PAL inaugural flight to Bali or how I'm falling in love with my new guy best friend) but based on the clothes I've worn as well. (^_^)

All the stars (and their kids) are wearing Skechers shoes

A girl can never have too many pairs of shoes. From boots to sandals, slip-ons to running shoes, it’s important to have a pair or two to choose from for just about any occasion.

OK, so you may run out of space at some point, but you can always do a Lydia Rose Bright – of TOWIE, ahem, fame – and flog older, unwanted pairs on eBay. Or, if you can’t bear to part with them (a collection is a collection, after all) there are several funky shoe holders and storage solutions for your beloved pairs available from most online stores.

But enough about old pairs; this season it’s all about Skechers shoes, the brand that produces the biggest selection of on-the-go shoes – from casual wear to athletic types – on the market. The Skechers brand was highly popular in the 90s, with the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera wearing them, and gained more popularity amongst kids when the likes of Spears’ son, Jayden, and Jennifer Lopez’s daughter, Emme were spotted out and about in them.

My Nike Air Max 1

I bought myself a pair of Nike Air Max 1 in black/perfect pink. My hubby wanted me to get a new pair of sneakers coz maybe he feels guilty that he has tons of  'em while this is only my fourth pair. Teehee. I still have my Nike Shox, the very first blogger gift I got in 2006 and it's still looking pretty sturdy; I still have my Ryka sneakers which is already looking a bit dilapidated coz it's what I have been using when biking around the village and exercising at home; and my brown and purple Addidas Retrek Jogger which I wore when we climbed the waterfalls in Mambukal and is still looking quite new.

Dancing the Night Away in My Korean Furry Pumps

Last weekend, I had the chance to wear my Korean furry pumps again (my 2nd time since I last bought it in one of Eastwood's Holiday Bazaars in  2010) when my hubby and I went on a dinner date in Harbour Square then headed to Republiq in Resorts World Manila to celebrate my girl friend's birthday (Happy birthday, Danes!).

Me and My Twinky Boots

It was sometime last week that I accompanied my sister to Alabang Town Center to look for a pair of Crocs slippers that she's been eyeing for sometime now. She found one for her girlfriend and bought a pair.  On our way out of the big mall, we passed by a window display of fashionable boots. I had no plans of buying but I thought there's no harm in trying out some and see if they fit.

New Year Getup

Happy New Year, everyone!

Our family usual wears something red during New Year's Eve. It's a way to ward off evil spirits and bring lots of good luck for the coming new year. So, on this post, I just wanna share my usual New Year getup --- a polka dotted red and white dress, which I matched with red rubber flats, red beaded necklace, red and white scarf, a red bowler hat and red lipstick!

Not a Reggae Attire

I don't think I ever wore a proper reggae attire whenever I went to see Brownman Revival play and I'm not about to start now. Going out of the house is a huge deal for me (being cooped up at home most of the time if I'm not traveling) so I make the most of it by dressing the way I like or depending on my mood.

Cushe Footwear for Me and Peter

Peter is now a freelance entrepreneur just like me. One of the perks of his gigs is that he gets to have some free stuff. The first of which were two pairs of footwear from a trusted quality brand, Cushe.

He was to get a pair of sneakers and a pair of sandals. Truth be told, when Peter shops, he does so far longer than I do. He scrutinizes every little detail and he makes sure that whatever he's buying must be of good quality, otherwise, he won't get it at all. So it's no surprise when he chose one of the most expensive pair of Cushe sneakers on display in their Trinoma branch last weekend.

Lace Layered Dress + Puff Sleeve Blazer + Demi Boots

When Peter and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary at Alba, it was a bit cold and drizzling outside. I thought of wearing something warm but comfy, cute and ladylike all at the same time. It must be my mood that day. I was feeling so much and I just couldn't decide what kind of look I want. So I just threw everything on my bed and picked out the ones I liked.

I Want Prada Shoes

I've been enjoying wearing my new pairs of shoes as of late. I like feeling pretty and tall in them, not to mention, comfortable too when I wear pumps and high heels. But being a girl, I can't help but check out some other shoes as well. One of my dreams is to be able to buy a pair of prada shoes. Oh my God! Just thinking about it already makes my heart beat so fast!

When we think of Prada, we usually think of wallets and bags. But did you know that they also have uber fabulous shoes of various designs as well? I scoured the internet for the best buys and these are the types that caught my eye:

Trying to Break Away From My Usual Fashion Mode

I'll be going to Boracay soon to experience the island life for six weeks so I've been trying as best I can to wear those new heels I bought from People are People a couple of weeks back, even if it's just going on a simple movie date with my hubby.

If you've noticed, I am the typical "terno" kind of gal. I like wearing matching bags and shoes, matching top and bottom, matching everything, color-wise that is. However, lately, I've been reading that this kind of fashion is out and wearing innovative color combination and mixing weird patterns are in. Somehow I always end up wearing something that matches in a so-called old fashion kind of way. Usually I don't really care. It's my body, my comfort, my style. I think I look good and for me, this kind of healthy appreciation for one's own sense of style is what really matters. But on these two particular weekends...

Manels Peep Toe 4-inch Heels

My original plan was to go back to Resorts World and try on that red pair of heels I saw at Michael Antonio's. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to go back there anymore so when I saw another pair of red heels, this time at Manels here at Festival Mall, I immediately tried them on to see if they'll fit me well. As it turned out, they did!

People are People: My 6 New Pairs of Shoes

People are People is one of those stores I frequent when I want to buy shoes that really last. I have an old pair of beaded sandals from 2008 which I still use until now, plus my gladiator boots which I had since 2009 which I also still use until now. I bought these pairs of shoes from People are People and though the leather is man-made, they have proven to be very sturdy as compared to the 5 pairs of shoes I bought from Janilyn less than a year ago, which already have chips and cracks. So never again to Janilyn but always yes to People are People. ^_^

Check out my six new pairs of shoes:

Charles and Keith 4-inch Strappy Heels

Remember when I told you that I bought 8 pairs of shoes for my birthday? Last year, I did the same thing but it I think it only cost me 20% or less of what I spent for my shoes this month. I'm normally not like this. But since I only buy shoes once a year now, I guess it's okay to splurge. Plus, I've been working so hard so I believe I deserved a treat, don't you think? ^_^

Anyway, let me share with you one of these fabulous pairs of shoes: my Charles and Keith 4-inch Open-Toed Pumps. They are just sooo comfortable!!!

I Only Had One Pair of Shoes Last Valentine's Weekend

I really wasn't expecting to have a fabulous Valentine's day, more so a grand Valentine's weekend. We were supposed to just stay in Mandarin Oriental Hotel for one night. But then Peter and Pops wanted to stay another night. I didn't bring any extra clothing for the occasion but I figured, my gladiator boots can go with anything.

At Mandarin Oriental Hotel from Feb. 12-14

A-Line Dresses and Caps

I remember my hubby telling me that he is prepared to see the day when I'll grow big like my mom. It's in my genes, he said, so there's really no way of avoiding it unless I get serious with slimming down.
This was taken when it snowed at Enchanted Kingdom

Anyway, this is probably why I like wearing A-line dresses. I may not be very chubby like my mom (yet) but at least the cut of this kind of apparel can hide telltale signs of bulges in my middle. Plus, they're very comfy too. So what I do is just style them up with accessories and other apparel like a pair of shorts or leggings, flat shoes and my favorite caps.

KAOS Presscon Fashion

Above: To quote Jeman Bunyi Villanueva, co-blogger, before having this photo taken: "Fashion Week ba?" ^_^

I recently attended a press conference for the launch of KAOS at Newport Performing Arts Theater located inside Resorts World Manila. I didn't really know what to wear at press cons. I don't think I ever attended one because of my hectic schedule at work but for KAOS, which features both international and homegrown talents, and which I love so much even if I've just seen its preview, I went all the way.

The Parvati Fashion

When my husband and I went to Parvati last Sunday to taste the various home-baked desserts they offer, I couldn't help but notice how stylish some of the guests were. I'd like to share here some of the photos we took in between bites of their delectable goodies.

I wanted to look prim and proper so I donned my Anne Taylor purple dress with a cream crocheted cardigan top, tied up my hair in a bun and wore my purple crocs. The rest of the ladies (with Roch on the right, the one who had me invited to come taste the wonderful goodies of Parvati) were wearing gorgeous heels to match their fab clothes.

Furry Korean Pumps Help Create My Mafia Look

The furry 3-inch heeled Korean pumps, which I wore together with my off the shoulder blouse, was a hit last week when we attended Brownman Revival's gig at 70's Bistro. My girlfriends couldn't help but notice my stylish pair of shoes and funky socks that they even took photos of them. It's a good thing that the weather that evening was particularly cool, otherwise, my look wouldn't be as smashing. It would be HOT (literally!). LOL.

I loved this photo above taken by our friend Koryn. It did make us look like a gangster couple, don't you think? LOL!

Here are some more shots of my shoes taken by our friends without my knowledge:

To see more photos of that one crazy night, grooving with the reggae beat of Brownman Revival, with my girls and boys, check out our photos here.
