Fashion and Comfort

Comfort + clubbing or gimmicking are words that don't really go well together coz most young people (even those not so young) I see who go clubbing or attend dance parties until the wee hours of the morning don't exactly wear the most comfortable of outfits. You know why? Number one, they most often than not wear super high heels to accentuate and elongate their legs. And two, they wear the most tight fitting of clothes to further create an illusion of ultra sexiness and desirability.

On the other hand, for those who won't be dancing or spending a lot of time standing or milling about, I guess these sorts of outfits would do. They surely would be catching a lot of attention and that would be enough. Typically, people go to clubs to see and be seen.

But for gals like me who want to make the most out of clubbing, then wearing whatever feels attractive, sexy and COMFORTABLE is the way to go. Take for instance the previous months when I frequented the club and reggae scene. I'd naturally wanted to look nice. But I didn't want to punish my feet either, especially when my ultimate goals were to get drunk, have lots of fun and go dancing (or was it the other way around?). Let's see if I followed my own rules ...

ON BOOTS & SHORTS/MINI SKIRTS

At first I was hesitant to wear my boots & shorts/mini skirts. But it just looked so nice with the rest of my outfit. I wasn't trying to make a statement or anything like that. I just wanted to make sure I can dance fine and do my usual moves.

Voila, both my suede flat cowboy and Hong Kong boots were very comfortable indeed, most especially on the dance floor. And my mini skirts didn't restrict my movement at all. I guess it was just a matter of proper dance coordination. Perfect choices!

ON TWO-INCH HEELS & DRESSES

Two-inch heels can be very tricky. They could either make or break your night. So I made sure to wear a pair that fit right and felt comfy on the soles of my feet. And they must match my dresses well too.

By the time we were done shopping, clubbing and dancing, I still had enough energy and pain threshold to make myself walk all the way to the parking lot and step into our car. Whew!

ON WEDGES

Here, my 3-inch wedges were just enough to let my 70's style outfit fall nicely all the way beneath my ankles.

These native-looking pair of wedges were from People are People. They look really interesting and beautiful. But after wearing them for an hour, my feet were already sore. Tsk, tsk.

ON JEANS & DOLL SHOES

Those tight pants and high-heeled doll shoes weren't exactly good choices. They looked nice, but they didn't feel comfy at all. But with a little bit of alcohol in my system, it numbed the discomfort I was feeling that night, which was a good thing coz as the saying goes --- The party must go on.

I was just wearing my old pair of toeberry slippers that time. But with major boobage on my part, who cares?!

Hope you got some tips that you can use next time you go out and party. Or maybe you can share yours? Let me know. ;-)
